About Facing Glory

I am learning that it takes time to see God's glory. It is always there, but when I write I tend to look for it more. And so I write this blog. It's simple, thoughtful and a glimpse of the journey I'm on. I enjoy hearing your ideas, so comment freely.
Love, Lindsay

Today

Thomas Moore : To live ordinary life artfully is to have this sensibility about the things in daily life, to live more intuitively and to be willing to surrender a measure of our rationality and control in return for gifts of the soul.

Ken, not Kenneth Saturday, September 18, 2010 |

As a small child, I always wondered what Ken was thinking. What should I make his voice sound when he was talking to Barbie while riding in their pink Corvette? Well, now I know.

Priceless Percolator Tuesday, September 7, 2010 |

There is something therapeutic about a morning cup of coffee. I commuted in a little early this morning so that I would have time to stop at my favorite coffee spot. Life has been a little hectic and there just hasn't been much time for the coffee shop. But when I stopped in this morning and the guy that's always working there took my order, it just started my morning off right. If you are a watcher of Gilmore Girls, you know about Luke's Diner. If you don't share my love for Stars Hollow, you can wait for the next blog, because you just won't appreciate this one.

I watched the last and final episode today when I arrived home from work. Let's just say that it wasn't complete without a serving of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blue Bell Ice Cream. It was glorious. I loved the whole episode, but here is my favorite scene...

Smell the coffee
Feel the warmth of the mug
Enjoy the familiarity of the morning

This clip communicates just why I love morning coffee so much. As simple as it is, I feel like life runs a little deeper with a cup of brewed goodness in my hands.

So, take time to stop into your favorite coffee shop. It just might 'perc' up your day.

p.s. Thank you Katherine for my very own percolator. :-)

sadie, sadie, married lady Monday, September 6, 2010 |

I have been missing my blog. It sounds silly even to me. What is it about typing my thoughts and hitting 'publish post' that is such a fun experience? I think it just forces me to take the time to think positive, to reflect and see the beautiful connections that God is working out in my life. It is really no different than a journal or a scrapbook, but this requires no mess and I can easily add pictures!

So today, I would like to share some wedding pictures. Here are some of my favorites in random order...

So far Kenneth and I have had three and a half months of wedded bliss. If I've learned one thing these last three months it's that my Kenneth is good at keeping things in perspective. I'll be honest, I can get frustrated by a minor hiccup in my day. With Kenneth and God's help, I'm learning to let go of the little frustrations and enjoy the good things in life.

I'm
Learning to work hard.
Learning to finish what I start.
Learning to love.
Learning to look past the road blocks.
Learning to drive a tractor.

Learning.

Happy Labor Day friends.
