About Facing Glory

I am learning that it takes time to see God's glory. It is always there, but when I write I tend to look for it more. And so I write this blog. It's simple, thoughtful and a glimpse of the journey I'm on. I enjoy hearing your ideas, so comment freely.
Love, Lindsay

Today

Thomas Moore : To live ordinary life artfully is to have this sensibility about the things in daily life, to live more intuitively and to be willing to surrender a measure of our rationality and control in return for gifts of the soul.

Peace

Good morning friends.
I have a final today. Prayers are welcome. I'm not feeling worried or nervous. Why? It's not because I've studied for oodles of time or because I'm confident I know everything. I guess you'd say I'm at peace. Hmmm, I like that word. Peace.

I think God likes this word...peace.

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiahh 9:6
And as they were saying these things, He Himself (Jesus) stood among them. He said to them, "Peace to you!"
Luke 24:36
The Greek word for peace that Jesus uses in this verse is , εἰρήνη, pronounced ā-rā'-nā. There is a lot more to this concept of peace than I thought! Here's the definition that I found on this site...

Peace:::

1) a state of national tranquillity; exemption from the rage and havoc of war

2) peace between individuals, i.e. harmony, concord

3) security, safety, prosperity, felicity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous)

4) of the Messiah's peace

a) the way that leads to peace (salvation)

5) of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is

6) the blessed state of devout and upright men after death

Peace to you today friends. Enjoy the picture of the Lily from our backyard. Don't you just love springtime?
