About Facing Glory

I am learning that it takes time to see God's glory. It is always there, but when I write I tend to look for it more. And so I write this blog. It's simple, thoughtful and a glimpse of the journey I'm on. I enjoy hearing your ideas, so comment freely.
Love, Lindsay

Today

Thomas Moore : To live ordinary life artfully is to have this sensibility about the things in daily life, to live more intuitively and to be willing to surrender a measure of our rationality and control in return for gifts of the soul.

Feels like today

Have you ever heard the old Rascal Flats song 'Feels Like Today'? If you want to take a peek at the video, here you go.

I bring this song up to share a something that has encouraged me. This song came out while I was in undergrad and it just seems that everytime I listen to it, I get this feeling that life is bigger than just where I am today. Do you ever notice that you just aren't feeling anything? Sometimes you get so loaded up with responsibilities and 'should' dos that you just don't have any energy leftover to feel. Sometimes I'm afraid to feel. What if I let my emotions come and they just don't stop. It seems safer to live numb. To pen things up inside because its not as messy.

As my life has stepped up on the Richter scale again, it's tempting to step out of the feeling, loving and giving mode. It's easy to sink into control freak mode and just do the things I should be doing. But I'm determined to feel each day.

Think about what you've stomped down and pushed aside. Maybe it's a friendship, a fear or a worry. Take time while your driving or before you sleep tonight to just let yourself really feel and take in what's going on in your life.

'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ' Phil 4:7-8

Let the tide roll in and let it roll you right to the feet of Jesus.
